Silicone Rubber Sheet

International Seal supplies silicone rubber sheet for industrial sealing, gasketing and engineering applications requiring flexibility, temperature resistance and reliable performance across a range of operating environments.

Silicone is a synthetic elastomer known for its ability to maintain flexibility across a broad temperature range, alongside excellent resistance to ozone, ultraviolet exposure and atmospheric ageing. It is widely used for flat gaskets, sealing washers, protective components and specialist industrial applications. Our silicone rubber sheets are available in 24″ × 24″ sizes, with thicknesses ranging from approximately 1.68 mm to 6.73 mm.

International Seal supplies silicone rubber sheeting to distributors, OEMs and industrial customers throughout the UK and internationally, supporting individual requirements, repeat orders and volume supply.

Silicone Rubber Sheet Specifications

Red silicone rubber sheet

Silicone rubber sheet combines temperature resistance, flexibility and environmental durability, making it suitable for a wide variety of industrial sealing requirements.

Specific temperature ratings, hardness, colour and regulatory compliance depend on the selected silicone compound.

Silicone Rubber Sheet Properties

High & Low Temperature Resistance

Silicone rubber maintains flexibility across a broad temperature range, making it useful for sealing applications exposed to both elevated and low temperatures. Many general-purpose silicone compounds have operating ranges of approximately -60°C to +200°C, although the actual continuous service limits depend on the specific formulation and operating conditions.

Flexibility & Elasticity

Silicone provides excellent flexibility and elastic recovery across a wide temperature range. This allows silicone rubber sheet to be used in flat gaskets and sealing components where flexibility is required, including applications involving temperature changes.

Weathering & UV Resistance

Silicone provides excellent resistance to ozone, ultraviolet exposure and atmospheric ageing. This makes it suitable for outdoor and environmentally exposed applications where conventional elastomers may deteriorate more rapidly.

Electrical Insulation

Silicone rubber offers good electrical insulating properties, making suitable grades useful for protective and insulating components in electrical and electronic equipment. Electrical performance should be verified against the specific material grade and application requirements.

Silicone Sheet for Gaskets & Sealing Components

Silicone rubber sheet is widely used for manufacturing flat gaskets, sealing washers and protective components where temperature resistance and flexibility are important. Sheets can be cut into circular, rectangular or bespoke profiles for equipment housings, flange connections and industrial assemblies.

When selecting a silicone gasket, important considerations include:

Silicone generally has lower abrasion and tear resistance than certain other elastomers, so component design and mechanical conditions should be reviewed where significant wear or repeated handling is expected.

International Seal can support distributors and OEMs requiring silicone sheet for gasket manufacture, replacement components and repeat production requirements.

Silicone Rubber Sheet FAQs

What temperature can silicone rubber sheet withstand?

Many general-purpose silicone compounds operate across a temperature range of approximately -60°C to +200°C. However, the exact continuous service temperature depends on the specific grade and operating conditions.

Is silicone rubber sheet suitable for high temperatures?

Yes. Silicone rubber generally provides good resistance to elevated temperatures and is commonly used for gaskets and sealing components exposed to heat.

Is silicone rubber sheet suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Silicone offers excellent resistance to ultraviolet exposure, ozone and weathering, making it suitable for many outdoor sealing and protective applications.

Is silicone rubber sheet oil resistant?

Silicone offers some resistance to certain oils, but general-purpose silicone is not normally the first choice for prolonged exposure to petroleum-based oils and fuels. NBR or FKM may provide better performance depending on the application.

Is silicone rubber sheet food grade?

Certain silicone rubber compounds are formulated to meet food-contact requirements, but not all silicone rubber sheets are food grade. Compliance must be confirmed against the specific material and its supporting certification.
