EPDM Rubber Sheet

International Seal supplies EPDM rubber sheet for industrial sealing, gasketing and engineering applications where resistance to water, weathering, ozone and environmental exposure is required.

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a versatile synthetic elastomer offering excellent resistance to outdoor ageing, moisture and a wide range of aqueous solutions. It is widely used for flat gaskets, sealing washers, protective components and general industrial fabrication. Our EPDM rubber sheets are available in 24″ × 24″ sizes, with thicknesses ranging from approximately 1.68 mm to 6.73 mm.

International Seal supplies EPDM rubber sheeting to distributors, OEMs and industrial customers throughout the UK and internationally, supporting individual requirements, repeat orders and volume supply.

EPDM Rubber Sheet Specifications

Blue EPDM rubber sheet

EPDM rubber sheet offers strong resistance to weathering, water and ozone, alongside good elasticity and mechanical performance.

Specific performance characteristics, including temperature capability, hardness and chemical resistance, depend on the selected EPDM compound.

EPDM Rubber Sheet Sizes

Our standard EPDM rubber sheets are supplied in a 24″ × 24″ format, equivalent to approximately 609.6 × 609.6 mm. A range of thicknesses is available to suit different gasketing, sealing and fabrication requirements.

EPDM Rubber Sheet Properties

Weathering & Ozone Resistance

EPDM provides excellent resistance to ozone, ultraviolet exposure and atmospheric ageing, making it suitable for outdoor seals, protective components and applications exposed to changing environmental conditions.

Water & Moisture Resistance

EPDM offers excellent resistance to water and moisture, making it a common choice for water-handling equipment, pipework, flange gaskets and general industrial sealing applications.

Hot Water & Steam Resistance

Suitable EPDM formulations can provide good performance in hot-water and steam environments. The permissible temperature and pressure depend on the specific compound and application conditions.

Chemical Resistance

EPDM provides good resistance to many aqueous chemicals, including certain dilute acids, alkalis and cleaning solutions. Chemical compatibility should always be verified for the specific media, concentration and temperature.

EPDM Sheet for Gaskets & Sealing Components

EPDM rubber sheet is widely used for manufacturing flat gaskets, sealing washers and other components exposed to water, moisture and outdoor operating environments. Sheets can be cut into circular, rectangular or bespoke profiles to suit flange connections, equipment housings and mechanical assemblies.

When selecting an EPDM gasket, important considerations include the operating temperature, chemical exposure, hardness, compression, sheet thickness and sealing surface design. International Seal can assist distributors and OEMs requiring sheet material for repeat gasket production or replacement sealing applications.

If an existing component is being replaced, a drawing, dimensions or physical sample can normally be used to establish the required profile.

EPDM Rubber Sheet FAQs

Is EPDM rubber sheet waterproof?

EPDM is highly resistant to water and is frequently used in moisture-exposed and water-handling applications. The suitability of a finished sealing component also depends on its design, compression and installation.

Is EPDM rubber sheet suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. EPDM offers excellent resistance to ozone, ultraviolet exposure and environmental ageing, making it well suited to many outdoor sealing applications.

Is EPDM rubber sheet oil resistant?

EPDM is generally not recommended for petroleum-based oils, fuels and hydrocarbon solvents. NBR or FKM may be more suitable depending on the operating conditions.

Can EPDM rubber sheet be used for gaskets?

Yes. EPDM rubber sheet can be cut into flat gaskets, washers and sealing components for water-based, outdoor and other compatible industrial applications.

Can EPDM withstand steam?

Certain EPDM compounds are suitable for steam applications, but not all grades have the same performance. The operating temperature, steam pressure and duration of exposure must be considered before selecting a compound.
